Dear English speaking friends!

This is my very first entry and no one is aware of this blog yet. I can tell you it's quite fun to discover the world of blog's as a complete novice.

Now I'm preparing this internet presence in advance of the mission in South Africa and experimenting with the features of this software. I have also to decide whether to write in German or English due to the fact that I will be unable to write in both languages continually (if at all). However, I chose to use mainly my mother-tongue.
But behold:  I placed a little translator machine at the top of this blog (the thing with the flags :-).
I am aware of the fact that this tiny tool is far from being a perfect interpreter, but at least you can get an idea what's going on. I would recommend to select "Google" and very much hope it helps.

BTW the blog's name "uThixo" is the expression for "God" in the language of the native Africans called isiXhosa. This Bantu language is chiefly spoken in the Western- and Eastern Cape areas among about 7 million black people.

Kind regards.

I just recently discovered that the famous scripture of Ps 113 (see picture above) refers in Hebrew to locations and not to time. So, the psalmist emphasises that the Lord is to be praised from the east to the west i.e. all over the earth rather than from dawn till dusk. (But the latter seems not to be wrong either).
